Welcome to Pinellas History Fair!
We are the premiere student history event in the county
and are growing rapidly. As part of the National History
Day program, we enjoy participation from museums,
libraries, schools, community leaders and business
leaders.
National History Day itself is a nationwide competition
that has been growing year after year. Over 700,000
students and 40,000 teachers nationwide
participate in this exciting event that is much like a
science fair but much more. A central theme is announced
by the National Center and students conduct research in
order to write papers, construct 3-d projects, perform
plays, computer programs, or create media presentations
based on their research. The competition begins at the
local level with the top two in each category moving
onto the state fair in Tallahassee. Each state then
sends its top two projects in the various categories to
the National Competition at the University of Maryland
in June.
